The modifier from shoulders is realy good (5% unity and research - 10% unity once upgraded) will outclass the free tech from Remnant a few years after aquiring said modifier. Stations are huge early and you can just trade cheese the AI if you want to rush them for better effect (and then resettle into an op ring or something). And the timing of Shoulders isn't too much of an issue since there isn't too much rush potential with it anyways. Shoulders get less tech (4vs5) but ressources to help utilise said tech. You can get 3x the same weapon type, but there is a lot of rubish in the pile and you can draw techs you are currently reseaching (goes for both)! Also the 750 Energy and 250 minerals rather pricy in the first decades. Also you could resettle to other planets. The planet size of Remnant is nice but only comes into play rather late in the game, the original 17-18 size gives more than enough districts, unless some growth cheese is applied. The ability to turn your home planet into an ecumenopolis not needing the APĪ few archeological sites giving ressources (up to 1.5k alloys but this is a bit unrealistic imho) and tech (4 techs!)Īn empire modifier lasting the whole game (unity, research, happiness)Īn event spawining a system with atleast one habitated planet Is this a serious question you asked after reading what each does and spending more than 5 seconds of thought?ĥ blockers giving arbitrary tech from a not too good list and a small amount of artifacts for a 1k ressource fee
